And Mumbai city hall agreed, unceremoniously demolishing a wooden deck built on a popular beach for a party to honour the couple on the second day of their six-day Indian wedding extravaganza.
Workers cleared away the makeshift platform that extended from the party hosts’ beach-front home on to the popular Juhu beach just before the party held yesterday, said civic councillor Adolf D’souza. He said: “Juhu beach belongs to the public and illegal constructions and extensions on to the beach are not permitted.”
Residents said the private dinner party went on as scheduled. A smaller platform was allowed.
